REGISTERING FOR BYNG SCHOOL
If you know of Kindergarten aged children in the neighbourhood or new neighbours with school age children, you may wish to inform them of the Richmond School District “Student Placement” Policy. Only students registered at the neighbourhood school by June 15, 2006 were guaranteed a space in their neighbourhood school for the 2006/2007 school year. Students register at their neighbourhood school UP TO and INCLUDING Friday, July 7 and AFTER Monday, August 28.
During the period July 10 to August 25, parents and legal guardians register their children at the District Registration Centre at the RICHMOND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD OFFICE at 7811 Granville Avenue (at Minoru Blvd.) during the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:00.
STUDENTS RETURNING TO BYNG AFTER SEPTEMBER 5, 2006
Parents of child(ren) who are currently enrolled at Byng and whose children will not be attending Byng on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 5, must advise the school in writing, or contact the school, of the late return date in order to hold the student’s place in the school for the 2006/2007 school year. A district form, Notice of Late Return, is available from the office and may be used for this purpose. In the event of an unforeseen circumstance that occurs after July 1st, and causes an unexpected late return to school, you are requested to advise the school as soon as possible by fax (668-6657), or in a letter, of the date of late return.
