Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow are heroes to the City of Ember. Ember was an underground city built because of fear that the Human Race would wipeout because ofthe Disaster (war). Lina and Doon were the ones who helped the City of Ember escape from their dying city.
They have been above ground for a year now at the Village of Sparks. How ever, Doon is convinced that they have forgotten something on their escape route to Sparks. When Doon finds an unusual torn up book missing most of its pages, it mentions an odd device he has never seen before. When Doon teams up with Lina, they go back to their old home to find that device. Even though his or her city is dead, someone has managed to live there for months…
Jeanne DuPrau is the brilliant author of the Ember Series - The City of Ember, The People of Sparks, The Prophet of Yonwood and The Diamond of Darkhold.
