Prescribed Learning Outcomes

The B.C. Ministry of Education Performance Standards for Information and Communications Technology Integration, viewable at http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/perf_stands/icti/incs/quickScaleTbl.html  lists the following skills:
1. Collecting information – selection of appropriate and varied sources, including paper-based, electronic, multi-media and community resources.
2. Organizing information – sorting, grouping and storing information so that it is understandable and retrievable.
3. Interpreting and analyzing information – ideas are conveyed, built, connected, interpreted and extrapolated
4. Presenting – layout, design, argument development and organization, using correct citations
The library programme and the teacher-librarian can play a pivotal role in helping students acquire the above skills.
