This computer course uses MS Word (OSX) and All The Right Type to develop keyboarding proficiency both as a personal life skill and as a foundation for school and university work. Designed to emphasize typing speed and formatting of report/essay, title page, tables and special displays for student portfolios, students learn to use drawing and art tools to complement assignments. This course is excellent for any student from grade 8 to 12 and is especially useful for ESL students for all levels and students who want an edge in preparing their portfolio for presentation. This course meets the Applied Skills 11 requirement for Grade 12 students only. (The next level in keyboarding is Business Computer Applications 11.)

Moving to the next level in keyboarding mastery and computer use, learn computer skills using a variety of software programs. Learn HTML using Apple Keynote to create creative professional presentations. Use FileMaker Pro 6 a database program to organize information and complete business projects for home and school and such event planning. Personal budgets and music lists. Create a professional brochure, business cards, and special cards for friends with Adobe InDesign, a desktop publishing program. With iPhoto, learn to import, organize, edit and share digital photos. Enroll in this course to complete creative work using a variety of computer software programs. |
