Marketing 11 (344) (MK 11)
Whatever you do in life, you will no doubt be involved in marketing—whether you are marketing yourself to a company in an interview, or marketing a company’s product/service, or marketing your very own business. Marketing 11 is an introductory, activity-based course in the basic concepts of retail marketing. Conduct market doing a Taste Test. Analyze products, prices, locations and promotions at Whistler. Observe shopping needs and habits, design a model store, and create window displays. Participate in the very successful student-run retail store in the school – Pegastore.
This course meets the Applied Skills 11 requirement.
Marketing 12 (444) (MK 12) No prerequisite
This is an activity-based course focused on advertising and international marketing. Compare major companies such as Nike, Roots, REI, and Coke. Create window displays. Create a TV commercial or a web site. Become part of the management team of Pegastore, a successful student-run retail operation in the school. With product research make decisions about what is sold in the store. Possible field trips include Whistler, Victoria, Seattle, Robson Street, and Yale Town.
Marketing 11 is NOT a prerequisite course.
This course meets the Applied Skills 12 requirement.
