Parents as Partners:
A Message From Our P.A.C.
The R.J. Tait Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the voice of the Tait parent community. Every parent of a child attending Tait school is welcome to be a member of the PAC. Together, with the administration and staff, the PAC is dedicated to providing effective communication between home and school; encouraging parents to become valuable contributors to educational decisions and strengthening the role of families in education and schooling. The PAC organizes a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, such as food days, book fairs and raffles. Money raised through fundraising activities is used to directly benefit the students of Tait. We encourage every parent to participate in a PAC meeting to see firsthand how we partner with the school and community and the positive
impact we have on the students.
Sincerely, on behalf of the PAC

PAC CHAIR REPORT 2007: from Jane Muckle_ _
Thank you Tait PAC members and volunteer parents for all that you ve accomplished this year. Our kids are so fortunate to attend such a great school with parents and teachers who give so much of their time selflessly. I would also like to say thank you to Bill Juhasz for the enormous amount of extra time and effort he puts into Tait and how that commitment is reflected in the student s spirit and enthusiasm towards school. Thanks Bill! And of course all of the teachers at Tait congratulations on another great year!
I think I speak for everyone who participates on the PAC in saying how proud we are of all the fundraising efforts made this year. Our fundraising team brainstormed endlessly on ways to help raise money for the school and implemented many new and exciting ideas. Some of these included selling raffle tickets, handing out Husky Cards, collecting items for the yearend BBQ, selling Tait Tiger wristbands, hot dog days and pizza lunches. It was a busy year on the PAC's fundraising front! Many thanks to the efforts of the fundraising and food day organizers whose efforts raise these funds that allows the PAC to contribute in so many ways to the school.
Financially the PAC has had a great year. To the end of May we have been able to purchase the following for the school:
School resources $2,610
Rainy day games $857
4 new computers $6,000
CD players $700
We are also assisting the school in purchasing some much needed new portable chairs and a new school sign, which will be located at the front entrance and will be a great communication device for the school and the Tait community. The activities of the PAC continue to assist the children and teachers in their everyday life; we also provide teachers with some classroom spending money and assist with field trip costs.
I would like to remind you that every parent of a child who attends Tait is a member of the PAC and we invite you to get involved with your child's school and help us all work as a team to provide the best possible resources to all the children who attend Tait. We are hoping that parents will put their names forward for elected positions on the PAC, or are able to volunteer their time to help out on food days, raffles, book fairs etc. Some of the positions available for the 2006/07 school year are Chairperson, Secretary and School Planning Council Representatives. You can find descriptions of these positions as well as the R.J. Tait Constitution on the website. Please also feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions or would like to volunteer your time in any capacity. I can be reached at muckle@shaw.ca
Have a great summer!
