Keys to Success
Attitude + Effort = Success. If you want it, it is yours for the taking.
1. Success
- What is Success to you? Success for each student is unique. Success may be experienced in mark-related and extra-curricular areas. Your marks are yours, your experiences are yours. Sometimes it is difficult to stop comparing yourself to your classmates but they are really irrelevant. Your success will depend on you, your attitude and effort. Success is not only the marks you receive on your report card, it may also be knowing that you actually tried your best and walking out of your lessons, or off the court, knowing that you learned something about the world, and yourself. You must decide what your success is.
2. Attitude
- Students who walk into the school with a positive attitude will always be more likely to experience success. Often our own attitude is the deciding factor as to whether we have good or poor experiences. And, a positive attitude will be appreciated by your classmates, your teachers, and yourself.
3. Effort
- Do not mistake it, hard work will consistently pay off. Sometimes it will be in your marks, other times in ways you never expected. As students, you are in school to learn and gain the tools that will make you successful in all facets of life, now and later. The more effort you put in, the more you will learn. The excuse of "I didn't try" is only a mask for the fear of failure. Put in your best effort, do the best you can, and be proud of it.
