Safety on the Internet
A world of learning awaits you and your child on the Internet. Your child may be ahead of you already. Many children have internet access at school, and it will become an increasingly important source of information. Whether or not you have internet access at home, it's essential that you learn with your children and be aware of where their travels are taking them.
You don't need to know much about computers to gain access to the wealth of information the internet can yield. Together with your child, start exploring all the child-friendly places on the Internet. You'll discover all sorts of way to encourage your child to read, write, improve math skills or do research.
On-line Safety Rules for Students:

...talk with an adult to set up rules for going online: time of day, how long to stay online, and appropriate are as to visit
...tell an adult right away if I find information that makes me feel uncomfortable.
...be a good online citizen and do nothing to hurt others or that is against the law.
...never give out my Internet password to anyone other than my parents or teacher.
...not agree to get together with someone I "meet" online without first checking with a parent.
...never send a person a picture of anything else without first checking with a parent.
...never give our personal infomation without a parent's persmission: my name, address, phone number, my school name or location, or places I go.
...never respond to messages that are mean or make me feel uncomfortable. If I get such a message, I will tell an adult right away.
